East/West

Presenting jointly with Chopin University Press, we introduce an album featuring the lesser-known but valuable flute and chamber music compositions of the Japanese composer Tōru Takemitsu. Takemitsu was an artist who forged an original artistic dialogue between the Western tradition and the native East. The chronological order of the tracks on the album showcases the evolution of the composer’s oeuvre.

The recordings were created as part of the initiative and project led by Aleksandra Janowska-Tkacz, with the participation of a rich chamber ensemble: Urszula Janik-Lipińska, Aleksandra Meisner, Łukasz Chrzęszczyk, Adam Eljasiński, Tamara Kurkiewicz, Jan Czyżewski, and Przemysław Marcyniak.
