Poulenc/ Messiaen/ Knapik

An album with a unique combination of compositions on the Polish phonographic market – works by Francis Messiaen, Olivier Poulenc and Eugeniusz Knapik were recorded. The album is the first in Poland to combine the achievements of the author of “Theme with variations for violin and piano” (1932) with the work of the Silesian Master – Eugeniusz Knapik, who received a scholarship from the French government to study with Messiaen. In the Partita you can clearly hear inspirations from the music of the French master.

The recordings were made in the Concert Hall of the K. Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice by Małgorzata Wasiucionek-Potera (violin) and Sylwia Michalik (piano) – the artists have been working together on a permanent basis since 2015, giving concerts and making audio-visual recordings.
